CARE ADVICE

Tell Me More's products are made to be used a lot and to last a long time. With a little extra love and by caring for the different materials in the right way, the chances of the different products staying beautiful and remaining your favorites year after year increase. To save both energy and water and to make the textiles last longer, we recommend washing at slightly lower temperatures and to hang dry rather than tumble dry, regardless of what the product can handle. Throws, cushion covers and other decorative textiles often just need to be aired outside to make them fresh again. When washing textiles from Tell Me More, we recommend that you use liquid detergent without bleach.

LINEN
______

Our 100% linen bedding is made from flax from Europe, where the climate is perfect for the flax plant, which gives the thread long fibers, making the fabric durable. Each individual piece is stone washed, which gives a lightly used feel and makes the linen soft and comfortable to wear against the body.

The properties of linen make it the perfect temperature regulator as it both wicks away moisture and breathes. It has a cooling effect during hot summer nights and provides warmth during the cooler winter months. This makes linen bedding equally suitable all year round.

Linen can be washed at both high and low temperatures, hung to dry or tumble dried. To save energy and water, and to avoid unnecessary wear and tear on textiles, we recommend washing at lower temperatures and airing them between washes. To get that perfectly soft yet crisp feel, we recommend hanging to dry until the fabric is almost completely dry and then tumble drying for a few minutes.

You will notice that the more you use your linen bedding, the softer and more lovely it becomes.

HEMP
______

Handwoven hemp rugs are a craft with a long tradition and our rugs are handwoven by skilled weavers. The hemp thread comes from the bark of the fast-growing hemp plant. It is a material that is known for being both dirt-repellent and durable.

When the carpet is woven and the thread runs out, a new thread is tied into the first one. This means that loose thread ends are inside the carpet. If a loose thread end becomes visible, it is best to try to tuck it back into the weave, or to carefully cut it off with scissors.

The hemp thread sheds some fibers at first, this does not affect the quality or appearance of the carpet, but it can be perceived as getting dirty under and around the carpet. To get rid of the loose fibers, we recommend vacuuming the carpet regularly on both sides.

Clean the carpet by vacuuming it and removing any stains with a clean dish brush or a damp cloth. To wash the entire carpet, we recommend leaving it to a professional carpet cleaner.

COTTON

______

Our range of cotton bed linen is produced in Portugal and consists of duvet covers, pillowcases and flat sheets in 100% organic cotton. All pieces are stone washed and have a thread count of 200 percale, which gives a quality that is soft and at the same time crispy.

The pillowcase and duvet cover come packaged in bags in the same lovely cotton quality. All pieces in the cotton bedding collection can be washed at 60° and are tumble dried.

To protect both the textiles and the environment, we recommend occasionally airing instead of washing. We also recommend washing at a lower temperature and hanging drying instead of tumble drying.

WOOD

______

Wood is a natural and renewable material. Our cutting boards are made of oak.

A wooden cutting board is meant to be used and worn, if taken care of properly it can last a lifetime. Wash it primarily with water only, if necessary with detergent, use only a small amount and never put it in the dishwasher. Dry it immediately after washing and do not leave it wet for any length of time.

Once a year, or when the wood starts to feel dry, you can oil it with vegetable oil. Take a small amount of oil on a cloth and lubricate the product. Remember to use an edible oil as the products are made for use in cooking and serving.

STONEWARE

______

We have many products made of stoneware, including cups, plates, bowls and serving platters, all of which are dishwasher and microwave safe.

Stoneware is fired at high temperatures, which results in hard and durable products. We work with different glazes to give the different products unique looks.

The Bon, Taranto, Bastia and Vince porcelain series use a reactive glaze that, when applied to the fired clay, reacts with the high temperature, giving each piece a unique character in terms of color and texture. This means that these series contribute a vibrant and welcoming feeling when you set the table with them.

We strive to work as sustainably as possible and some of the cups in our collection are made according to international Fair Trade guidelines.
